At the Mobile Barber Shop Depot we are about more than just the freshest haircuts and dopest events. What drives our family-run business are old-fashioned values like community, kindness and gratitude.
That's why we've decided to launch our new You Play, We Pay initiative for kids aged 12 and under, from Tuesday 16th July until the end of the year.
This project encourages kids to play together the way we used to (old-school!) and develop their social skills by interacting with kids of different ages - an essential part of their emotional health and well being.
Choose to make the most of what's on offer in our space when visiting the Mobile Barber Shop Depot, including ping-pong table, pinball machines, giant Jenga and Connect Four, board games and more and earn $2 from us. That's right, your kids can play and make new friends while waiting to get their haircut AND earn money for it!
As parents ourselves, we often get frustrated with the constant requests for tech time or complaints of "I'm bored" and find ourselves having to constantly encourage our boys to get out there and play. We feel that, in a way, technology has brought us all closer together but at the same time is disconnecting us from the world around us, creating a sense of isolation and loneliness.
That's why we are super keen to bring back that traditional community vibe at the Mobile Barber Shop Depot!
This initiative will also play into our monthly Swap-It Saturday events, kicking off this July with FREE kids' workshops (run FOR kids BY kids), and a toy/book swap. So bring along a used toy (in good working condition) or book to swap with another kid, make new friends, learn new skills and have a good old-fashioned time! It's also a great way to get kids into the habit of recycling and reusing.
Come on down to the Mobile Barber Shop Depot on Saturday July 27 from 12pm – 2pm for:

· BREAK DANCE WORKSHOP RUN BY THE KIDS FROM TEAM CREAM ACADEMY (12.30-1.00pm)
· MUAY THAI WORKSHOP RUN BY THE KIDS FROM FIGHTER’S HAVEN (1.00-1.30pm)
· YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A YEAR’S WORTH OF FREE HAIRCUTS!

Patrons of the Mobile Barber Shop Depot are also welcome to donate to the fundraising jar at our shop counter – all money raised will go directly back to the kids in our You Play, We Pay initiative.
